"I didn't go to class yesterday because my car broke down."
(1) "You could have borrowed mine. I wasn't using it."
(1) "You could borrow mine. I wasn't using it."
(3) "You were able to have borrowed mine. I wasn't using it."
(4) "You were able to borrow mine. I wasn't using it."
Which sentence do you accept?

| #1 is grammatical and completely natural. #4 is grammatical, but not natural. |
