Hello, can you answer my question?

What is "primary health care"? Please explain it so that I can understand the following:

Meeting with regional health official to discuss primary health-care initiatives

Visits to family physicians, consultations with nurse practitioners, telephone calls to health information lines, and advice received from pharmacists are just some examples of primary health care services.

An initiative, in this case, means a fresh strategy intended to resolve or improve something.
