Hello,
"He spent a great deal of time on /in preparing the sales report."
Here I want to know which preposition is better or correct at least in formal situations.
Could you explain this? Thank you all the time. |

I have found out a sentence used ' spend on' in the word bank database.
<UK Written>
Plan to spend it in 6 months time on something special. |

I'm still confused.
So is it okay to use on / in as in the following?
-spend some money in something expensive
-spend some time on something fun
Thanks a million. |

I would use, "He spent a great deal of time preparing the sales report." without either preposition.
He spent some money on something expensive. (I can't use "in".)
What do you want to spend your money on?
Let's spend some time on this question. |
