The winter vacation ____ in two weeks, and here is my plan. (A) comes (B) come (C) will come (D) came
The answer is choice C. Is choice A also acceptable? _________________ Thank you very much for your reply. |

In terms of tense, you could certainly use present simple tense in the answer slot because a future time is indicated (in two weeks). I think based on grammatical rules, it might be wrong for someone to mark answer choice 'A' as incorrect.
For me, the hitch is the word "comes". It doesn't sound right to say "the winter vacation comes in two weeks", because of the underlying meaning of 'come'.
This sentence, however, sounds fine to me:
"the winter vacation STARTS in two weeks"
