Hi teacher, I am trying to apply for a staff position at a summer camp.
Please explain the parts that I have questions with. Thank you so much.

1.Conditions and impairments include, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, diabetes, *hearing/sights * *impairment*.....

Do I pronounce "hearing slash sights impairment" or "hearing and sights impairment"? Also should the impairment be plural or singular?

2.Counselors help campers participate in a wide range of traditional camp activitities as well as their daily living taks (eating, dressing and showering.)

Do I say "such as" instead of ignoring the brackets?

3.
Camps can operate in multiple locations from a city park, beach or community center to *being* part of a residential camp.

Sorry I don't quite get it.

1. It is "sight impairment," not "sights impairment." If your question means how would you say it aloud when reading it to someone, I think you could say either "hearing and sight impairment" or "hearing or sight impairment." And singular is correct.

If you are just reading it aloud to a friend, or making it as an announcement, you can wander from the script a little to make yourself clear to the audience. If you are reading it as a school assignment, you want to adhere strictly to the text, so that the teacher will know that you did it correctly.

2. Again, assuming you are reading it aloud to someone, you could add "such as" for clarity or you could use your voice to communicate the parentheses. Just pause a little before saying "eating," and even say it a little higher or lower in tone. Listen to books on tape for good examples of speaking the punctuation.

Note that these symbols ( ) are parentheses (singular parenthesis), while these symbols [ ] are brackets.

3. Not very well written, but it means that the camps can be in parks or beaches or at community centers, or may be operated as part of a residential camp.
