I wanted to know why we have to use the article in this sentence "from a young age'' not "from young age".
If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated!!

Hi,

"from a young age"

Even though there is an article there, it is an indefinite article. It could be any (young) age -- 9, 10, 12, 13, etc.

Because "young age" implies an age, an article is necessary before it.

"At a very young age" is another common phrase.
