- It`s difficult to say how many people do BASE jumping across the world.
IT COULD BE TAKEN TO MEAN that due to the legislation surrounding it
many BASE jumpers keep their hobby a secret.
Is the `taken to mean�okay in this context? Please tell me if it`s aserious mistake, don`t just comment.

It's perfectly OK English. It could be replaced by it could be construed as meaning, or believed to mean, and so on.
Base jumping is the sport of parachuting off tall buildings, high bridges and things like that. It is illegal in many places. |
