When they get lost in a strange city, more often than not they are angry at the map they use. In fact, it's the map of words in their heads that are to blame.
What does " the map of words" mean in this sentence?

Maps are usually made of drawings and this is what we think of when we use the word. However, a map can be made of words, such as directions you give to somebody as to how they get from here to there. |
