Hi teachers,
Would you please point out the right answers to my questions.
Thank you all so much.
1.He had eaten two flies *on* the salad.
Can I use "from" instead?
2. Cats and dogs differ greatly in nature. *For one thing*, they have their individual ways of expressing their feelings.
Does it mean "for example" in his case?
3...."For another", dogs and cats never get along well.....
Does it mean "another point is"? |

1. Yes. Who is eating flies? Bleah!
2., 3. Yes, using "for one thing," "for another [thing]," "and another thing," etc. is just a way of listing examples or ticking off a list. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

He had eaten two flies on the salad.
He had eaten two flies from the salad.
Do they differ in meanings at all?
Thanks |
