Hi Tone,
I think it really depends on what you want to do. If you study at a local school, it will be more flexible to your life and schedule, but it may take more time, and you will be distracted with your existing life.
Whereas if you studied abroad, you are forced to immerse into the culture. You will learn quickly and get the travel as well. But you will need to adapt to a different society.
From people that I have met, people who have been abroad for 1 month learn more that those that study for a year in their home country.
Hope that helps |

Hi. My name is Osman, I am calling from Turkey and learning English one to one. My teacher said I had to visit this web site and than I can improve my english.
I think studying abroad is better, but I can't believe me for adapt to UK people. And I don't know how many time I have to live in UK. I can't live there long time. Because it will be expensive for long time. I want to stay in UK only a month or 45 days. Is it enough or not. If you have an idea about this, you can help me.
Thanks. |

I would suggest a little of both, especially for beginners. Going to a good local school can provide a foundation, then a study-abroad program to help with accent, vocabulary, phrases, etc...
Good luck,

PS
I have also been seeing some pretty good online courses around. Find one that uses a native English speaker - this could be another option.
Good luck,

Hello Tone,
Regarding your concern about the above sentence.
I highly recommend studying abroad.
I highly recommend this due to the experiences of my dad,
he was a scholar, he studied different languages,
his major were English,German and Italian
He first enrolled in Italian Language School. from there he learned
lots of Italian words, then to German Language School. will, from my dad
I learn "guten Tag" which means "Good day" and lastly;
the English language, my favorite of all my dad's languages,
I easily understand it for it is the common language use at our school.
and one thing,it is the universal language,
many people know and speak this language.
Anywhere you go, English is always present.
thats it tone, I must recommend to go abroad,
like my dad. I also wanted to go there too, after my degree.
hope it helps....
