Hi,teacher!

If I say "Me,too." to the person who said to me "I love you", does that mean "I love you ,too" ?
Or I run the risk of being misunderstood as I'm trying to say "I love myself, too"?

I don't quite understand how to use "me,too" properly.
Please help me!

thank you

Well, when someone says he / she loves you, if all you say is, "Me, too," you're probably just being nice without saying, "I love you, too." You're probably trying to avoid saying the "L" word to that person! "Me, too" in that case is only a little better than, "I know you do."

Better to say "I love you, too" something more direct and honest than "Me, too," in that case. If necessary, say, "I know you love me, Arnold, but I don't love you and I never will, so quit stalking me." (If you've been married 50 years and your spouse says it for the fifth time today, the occasional "Me, too" is all right. Your wife or husband knows what you mean.)

For other things -- I like ice cream, I'd sure like to have that car, I'm so happy summer is finally here, I'm too tired to dance right now -- "Me, too" is just fine in casual conversation.
