I came across sentence #1 ,below, the other day.
For non-native (Japanese) learners of English, I rewrote it into #2, #3, and #4. Are they(#2, #3, and #4) all acceptable as good English sentences?
1. The chimpanzee is an intelligent creature, capable of solving simple problems.
2. The chimpanzee is an intelligent creature, being capable of solving simple problems.
3. The chimpanzee is an intelligent creature, which is capable of solving simple problems.
4. The chimpanzee is an intelligent creature, and it is capable of solving simple problems. |
