Here is the question:

Which answer is best?
(A) watching (B) watched (C) she watching (D) she watches
I can't find the best answer. Can I write as follows?
(a) Since she watched the thriller Silent Hill, Jodi dare not sleep alone at night.
(b) Watching the thriller Silent Hill, Jodi dare not sleep alone at night.

Definitely (A) Since watching the thriller Silent Hill, Jodi dare not sleep alone at night.

Acceptable enough I guess. Though I�m not really happy about the use of the simple past for joining two events when the second is a result of the first. In such cases I prefer a perfect tense. Might be a UK thing though.
Compare:
"The deterioration in market conditions (�) have led to the need to strengthen the capital position of the company,"

Grammatically fine but does she watch the thriller Silent Hill while she is sleeping? Without "since" the two events of watching and sleeping might be understood as taking place at the same time.
Stick to �Since watching the thriller Silent Hill, Jodi dare not sleep alone.�
