Hello:)
Recently I heard in the news that somebody 'went turkey'. I am not sure, maybe I misunderstood something. If not, could you explain to me the meaning of that expression? Unfortunately, I do not remember the context in which it was used. |

Hi Lemah,
Could it have been "went cold turkey?" "To go cold turkey" means to quit a habit (usually a bad habit, like smoking) suddenly and with no help. Someone who quits smoking cold turkey throws their cigarettes away and avoids smoking through sheer "will power" (determination). They do not use nicotine patches, hypnosis, support groups, or any other aid.
