Hello,
I need your help.
Jay is one of the children.
1. Jay walked more quickly than the other children.
2. Jay walked more quickly than any other children.
3. Jay walked more quickly than the other child.
Which one is grammatically correct?
Thank you all the time. |

All are grammatically correct, but they have different connotations:
1. Jay walked more quickly than the other children. He walked faster than all the other children in that group. He was the fastest child in the group.
2. Jay walked more quickly than any other children. He was the fastest child walker in the world. Or the fastest of all the children mentioned earler.
3. Jay walked more quickly than the other child. He was faster than the one other child walking then and there. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
