I think this sentence is somewhat wrong.

Could you tell me if this is correct or wrong? And please explain what part is wrong?


Why and how scientists researched and found out about atoms and molecules?

It's not a natural way to say it. You could reword it:

Why and how did scientists research and find out about atoms and molecules?

More likely, you would make two or three questions:

Why did scientists begin to study atoms and molecules? How did they do their research? What did they learn?
