Is OK
2.He pretended illness.
Is OK
3.He pretended ill.
Is not proper English.
4.He played illness.
Is not correct.
5.He played ill.
Is OK.
6.He played to be ill.
Is incorrect.
7.He pretend to be good.
Is incorrect.
He pretended, or he pretends to be good is correct.
8.He pretend a good man.
Is incorrect.
He pretends, or pretended to be a good man would be correct.
9.He played good.
Doesn't work. It sounds as if the person saying it is uneducated and is trying to say, [i]He played well, which, in this case, is not what you are trying to say.
10.He played a good man.
Is OK. |
