Hello,
Can "place" mean a shop or store by any chance?
In an adpated story of "the Pied Piper of Hameline", I encountered:
"The rats are everywhere. The rats were in her place, too."
(Here she worked at the pub. )
A dictionary says about "place":
a residence, dwelling, or house: Please come and have dinner at my place.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your help. |

Usually, it means her home.
Her place of work means where she worked.
It could mean shop or store, perhaps, if she owned it, or lived there. |
