hello teacher

is it more appropriate to say as from in stead of starting from and which
one of them is more formal ,could please check the following example
whether i was right or wrong :



(Please be advised that Eid holidays in Egypt will be
as from 31st of January upto 4th February).

Hi Hanygeorge38,

'As from' is incorrect, so that choice is not valid. 'Starting from' is ok (I think), but it is a little awkward. 'Up to' (two words) is correct, but a little informal. 'Up until' is more formal, but could create confusion - Is the 4h of February included in the holidays, or not? 'Through' is clear that the 4th of February is included. Here's my suggestion:

Please be advised that the Eid holidays in Egypt will be from the 31st of January through the 4th of February.

It is formal, but if it is a written sentence, you would want to write out the 2 numbers: thirty-first and fourth.
