Hello!
"not a big one for..." means that you're not really interested in something. It's sort of a neutral feeling: you don't hate something, but you don't love it, either.
Examples:
Bill enjoys going to the movies, but he's not a big one for romance films.
We like to vacation by the lake, but we've never been big ones for sailing.
I know this sounds crazy, but I'm just not a big one for pizza.
My friends like to go skiing every weekend, but I'm not a big one for being outside in the cold all day.
Another expression that means the same thing is "a fan of.."
Bill enjoys going to the movies, but he's not a fan of romance films.
We like to vacation by the late, but we've never been fans of sailing.
I know this sounds crazy, but I'm just not a fan of pizza.
My friends like to go skiing every weekend, but I'm not a fan of being outside in the cold all day.
Hope this helps! |
