Hello, teachers!!
(1) Talking of Smith, what has become of his youngest daughter?
(2) Speaking of Smith, what has become of his youngest daughter?
I am not sure about how to use (1) talking of and (2) speaking of?
Would you tell me about it?
Thank you in advance. |

Nobody I know would say (1). We would say (2). I always hate to say "that's just the way we say it," but that's just the way we say it.
Just to be clear: you can talk of or about things, and you can speak of or about things. In spite of that, we still say (2).
