Hi,
I'm quite puzzled by this sentence. Could anyone tell me if this is correct?
What colour are the walls of the bedroom painted?
Which is the subject? Colour or the walls? Could this sentence be re-written as 'In what colour are the walls of the bedroom painted?"
Thanks in advance!

Walls is the subject of this sentence in the passive voice.
The sentence can be rewritten as in your example. |

A native speaker would most likely say 'What colour is the bedroom painted?'
(I believe that usually the ceiling is painted white even if the walls are not white.) |
