What does "guarding" here mean??
Hiding or something like that??
...."Yes, there are only two things he could be doing," I replied. "He is looking for your Mark to kill him, or he's guarding Colin somewhere," Frances said....
Thanks. |

Guarding means protecting - keeping something safe from harm, or preventing someone from going in or out of a place. A security officer might guard a door, only letting certain people in or out, and a boxer guards his body with his gloves to stop his opponent from hitting him.
So in your text 'he' is either trying to kill Mark, or he's protecting Colin. |

Or he could be standing guard over Colin, making sure Colin doesn't escape, much as a prison guard would guard the prisoners. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
