hello,

As for the subject and verb agreement,
1) the apls are
2) the rocky mountains are

Because it is a range of mountains, it comes with the and it is always plural.

I am right?

Yes, they are the Alps (not the apls) and the Rocky Mountains, and they take a definite article and are indeed plural.
