Dear teachers,
Please give comments on the following examples and explanations:
"She's one of those great teachers who inspire me to follow a teaching career" --> meaning all those teachers, including the "she" inspire "me" to...
"She's one of those great teachers who inspires me to follow a teaching career" --> she's a great teacher, an she inspires me to follow a teaching career, which other great teachers may not.
Thank you. |

The verb will agree with its subject.
She...inspires me...
The phrase "is one of those great teachers who" modifies the subject "she" and the verb does not agree with this phrase, but with the subject.
If the sentence were this:
I enjoy great teachers who inspire me to follow a teaching career.
Then the subject is teachers and the verb agrees with inspire. |

I think both sentences and explanations are good. |
