They are synonyms in many usages.
Synonyms are two words that have very similar meanings.
Result may be more neutral than consequence.
His alarm clock did not ring and as a result he woke up late.
He did not study for his final exams and as a consequence he did not obtain a distinction.
Waking up late happened because his clock did not ring, but it is not as important as doing poorly on an exam.
When someone commits a crime they must pay the consequences.
'Pay the consequences' means that they must be held responsible for their bad actions. |
