The second sentence is what we'd usually use. The first sentence isn't necessarily incorrect (you'll see that kind of structure in some literature), but it sounds awkward outside of stylised poetic language.
You should generally keep the verb and the noun phrase (the object of the verb along with its adjectives etc.) together:
I saw dancing snakes there
There I saw dancing snakes are both fine (the first is far more common in informal English). |
