Below is the extract of a cloze passage.

Everyone uses toothpaste to brush their teeth every day. _______ , do you know what toothpaste is made of?

A Although
B However
C Moreover
D Therefore

I think the first two sentences are contrasting in ideas. Therefore, I would choose B as the answer.

Some of my friends say D should be the answer. I do not agree because "therefore" is "showing a result of something" and in this context using toothpaste does not make us know what it is made of.
