Is the following sentence OK, especially for "only foot-square"? (In my thought, it should be "only a foot square" or "only one foot square.")
---------- the following ---------------------------
It is hard for street trees to survive with only foot-square holes in the pavement. |

| Yes It's OK. When we are talking about something that is only a foot, yard, mile etc., square, it's OK to leave out "a" or "one". |
