Hi, can you help me understand this sentence?
What does this means? Is it related to the parking meter? I
know that contracts, visas, leases can expire, but meters too?
What does 'meter' mean here?
Thank you so much.
The meter has expired. |

It usually means that the time you have paid for on a parking meter has expired and you need to put more money in, or get a ticket.
However, the meaning has been extended in colloquial speech to mean time has run out on any project.
e.g. "The meter has expired for design plans for the new city hall. |
