Yush!

I thought I might see if there are any like minded reggae fans on this forum. I know that reggae is popular in many countries across the world, especially Japan and Germany, but unfortunately Hong Kong (where I live) doesn't appear to be one of them! Sad So, if you like reggae, then why not come on here and have a 'chat' about the music and culture. Maybe you can recommend some good reggae tunes too Smile

One love!

Yipee! Someone eventually responded Smile

Hello Lula. How's the reggae scene downunder? It sounds like Italy has a big reggae following. I'd have never expected that. I don't know why, but there you go. You learn something new every day Smile Yes, Bob Marley is undoubtedly one of the 'kings' of reggae. He did so much to bring reggae from Jamaica and to the world. It's such a tragedy that he died so early when he still had so much to offer.

Still, there are many more amazing reggae producers. Very Happy Have you heard any of Lee 'Scratch' Perry's music. He produced a lot Marley's early stuff. If there is a King of Reggae then Perry is possibly him. I recommend most of his material especially his dub orientated stuff. Actually, if you go to the www.blackark.com you can listen to a live reggae feed which has some very good tunes on it. Cool

Unfortunately there aren't too many places for going out and listening to reggae in Hong Kong. Not that I know of anyway Crying or Very sad But the summer's coming soon and then I hope to organise the first Reggae Sunsplash in Hong Kong. I'm not quite sure how, but it would be irie Cool Have you ever been to Japan? They have abig reggae festival called Japanspash every August, I think. I definately want to go to the next one this year! Laughing

Anyway....one love!
