| Is "the reverse fold umbrella" OK in English? It means that an umbrella is folded not downward as in general but upward. It's just an imagination. Of course I don't know whether it really exists in the real world. |

| Do you mean if you have a regular umbrella, and the wind blows very hard and it blows it inside out? That's all I can think of. |

I am asking just whether such an English Expression as "the reverse fold umbrella" is OK or not. When we go out in a rainy day, we unfold the umbrella upward( to the direction of the umbrella top). And when we come home after finishing work outside, we fold the umbrella usually downward( I mean to the direction where the hand-taking part is). But, I just imagined what if we can fold the umbrella upward( I mean to the direction where the umbrella top is), regardless of its necessity, usefulness or reality. At that time, I wonder if I can call it "the reverse fold umbrella," contrary to "the normal fold umbrella."
Please give me whether the English expression is acceptable. Or is other expression more appropriate - like "the reversely folded umbrella," "the conversely folded umbrella," or "the reverse folding umbrella"? If you have any questions (because my English is a little awkward and my writing may not convey my idea correctly), please let me know. Thank you. |

| Eep, it is very hard to understand. None of the suggestions you have make sense to me, sorry. I don't know know how you can open an umbrella opposite to the way it opens now, so I am not doing a very good job of understanding. |

I find your explanation quite clear.
"reverse fold umbrella" is fine, so is "reverse folding umbrella". Other possibilities are "upward fold/ing umbrella". |
