Hello everyone,
I'd like to know if the expression below, with "for nothing", is correct and natural in English? Please, take a look at the contexts.
Person 1: There's no one else here today, only me. I think it's because tomorrow is a holiday. Is there going to be English class today?
Person 2: Yes, of course. The lesson will be given so that you didn't come here for nothing.
My explanation to "so that you didn't come here for nothing": so that you didn't waste you time coming here, so as to prevent you from having a wasted trip to school.
Thank you in advance! _________________ All the best! |
