Dear teacher:
In my country, students always go to cram school after school.
Cram school is a school which teaches a highly accelerated curriculum, with the goal of preparing students to take examinations.
Last time, I told my friend I went to cram school. But she did not know what cram school mean.
Do American use the word?
Best wishes,
Angela |

| I haven't heard "cram school" used here, but it's pretty obvious what it means because we do use "cram" to mean study very hard, usually at the last minute, to "cram" all the information into your brain. ("Cram" means "stuff" or "push into") |
