Translated into more than 35 languages, the stories of Moominvalley have enchanted the hearts of people all over the world. The world of Moomintroll continues to entertain and light the way for people in times of hardship, as well as in times of joy.

In the second sentence above,
(1) the verb �entertain� here is intransitive.
(2) the verb �entertain� here is transitive, and the noun �people� is the object not only of the verb phrase �light the way for� but also of the verb �entertain.�

I think (2) is correct. Do you agree with me?
