Hi,

What does 'I lost the ring' mean as in 'I still believe she was my twin, but I lost the ring'? (quoted from Simple Twist of Fate) Is the ring here 'a wedding ring'? a boxing term? a connection? or anything else?

It was the "brass ring" which he failed to grasp.
