Dear teacher,
Suppose the light in the room was on two hours ago, and it is off now.
Can I say "The light in the room turns from on into off"?
Is "The light in the room turns from on into off" a grammatical sentence? |

I don't think you'd ever hear that sentence. Perhaps "The light in the room was turned off." would be more likely. |

Thank you for your replay.
I am learning English.
I still have a question.
How about "Mary turns from fat into thin" and "Mary turns from being fat into being thin"?
Are they grammatical sentences? |

We wouldn't use that construction, either, sorry.
It would be much more common to say, "Mary is getting fat." or "Mary is getting thin." |
