2. Fish live in the water.
Q: Which sentence is right?
Someone told me the second one is right, but I doubt it. Isn't fish
plural? |

The second one is correct. If fish is plural, then "Fish live in the water." is correct. Just like "Cats live on land." If you are talking about one fish, it would be singular. "My fish lives in a fish bowl." |

There is a much easier way to look at this. I tell my students for verbs in the present think of the pronoun he she it I you we they. Remember He She It with s or es I you we they NO s So in this case fish are THEY. I hope this helps with all verbs for you. _________________ YOU CAN learn English
