I'm doin a research about how much pride people all around the world take in their own countries. Tell me how you feel toward the country or city where you you live in, please. |

Frankly speaking, I am not so proud of being a Taiwanese. But, there's still something for Taiwanese to be proud of, such as the democracy, plentiful hot springs, hard working people (Taiwanese's working time is the longest in the world), computer-related industries, billiard players, etc. Maybe Taiwan is not the best place to live in compared to other countries in the world, but to look at the bright side, Taiwan has its own features and attractions which make people want to stay here. Just try the traditional Taiwanese food and you'll fall in love with it! I think every country has its good and bad aspects. Try to look at the good aspect, and you'll see that every country always has something to be proud of. |

I come from China. I love my country for three reasons. First of all, I love Chinese food. China has different kind of food in different provinces. Each province has its own special food. For example, Guangdong province is famous for its seafood. The seafood is really good. And such as Sichuan province, its spicy food is good. And the second reason I like China is it has a very long history. Chinese has good patrimony and custom. For example, I live with our parents and take care of them when they get old. The third reason I like China is it is beautiful. China is a very good country for travel. If you go to china, you can go to Beijing to visit Great wall, you can go to Yunnan province to visit its old town and so on. In my opinion, China is a really good country. Although it is a developing country, it is not as rich as the USA or Canada, but it is good. |

I was born in Russia, grew up in Israel and been living in the U.S for a while. I don't feel that I belong to a single country, so naturally I can't say that I am proud of this country or another. I can say that I find excessively nationalistic people to be irritating. I hate people who raise their heads just because of their nationality and think that they are better from other people just because their nationality doesn't happen to be the same as theirs. I think that all the problems in this world come from an excessive nationalism. People treat each other so badly, fight with each other, kill, rape, all just because they feel that their (superior, according to them) nationality gives them a right to do so. They forget that all people are essenyially the same. |

Hello everybody,
I'm Morrocan and Muslim. I'm proud of my country and much of my religion. I like morrocan people because they are warm, enjoyed, cheerful, helpful...and relationship between the family member's is very privileged. Morroco is very beautiful country you can found it diversity of landscapes and every state has a particular tradition, food, behaviour,clothes,etc...
At least, we are open-minded people, we accept different culture and don't have any objection to live in harmony with whole the world.
Have a nice time. |

Unfortunately, I'm not very pround of the USA right now, because we are turning into a neocolonial power that likes to invade other countries not to help them, but for our own benefit. |

I understand how you feel about the USA but it was Al Quaida who attacked them and not the other way round.
There is a militant faction of Islam that would like to "convert" the entire world to that religion, by force if necessary (although how you make someone believe something by force is beyond me). If that were to happen how many liberal democracies would survive it?
The closest thing to a liberal democracy in the muslim world at the moment is Turkey. It does not seem very liberal or very democratic to me. |

Hi people Im from Colombia and I want to tell you that I SO PROUD of my Country!!!! Everybody thinks that Colombia is a so dangerous country and that is a dehorn and that everybody people are "gurrilleros" here.
Is truth that the situation of public order is complicated, but we know that Colombia isnt the unique country that have troubles, the violence exist in whatever place.
Colombia has many things that show to the world yet, many good things as beatyful landscapes(many climates in only a country, two eoceans, mountains and more),intelligent and worker people(because you cant deny that the colombians are intelligent),funny, happy and polite people.
In conclusion one thing is live or visit Colombia and other thing is live in whatever other part of the world where you dont know as is the real situation in Colombia, because the news sometimes dont say the truth.
Thus, I say that Colombia is a beatyfull place to Know and visit!!!
COLOMBIA IS WONDERFUL!!!!!! |

What is markable for a country to be proud of it? It's culture? Every single country has got it's own culture. Many people just like it, because they're used to it. It's politics? That is decided on by human beings, so it isn't the fault of a whole country, if they're doing good or bad. The language? I don't think so. I guess, a country is just an abstract term for the people living there and their traditions and believes. Maybe also for buildings or whatever. I can't see the point in setting one country, even if it is my "own" country in general above another one. I can set it above or below another one on certain points, e.g. the violence or law system or whatever. A country is just to complex to judge it with one word.
I'm not proud of my country. Neither I dislike other countries as a whole. _________________ "An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind." Mahatma Gandhi |
