Giving up my job to go back to full-time education was a big commitment, but now I know it was the best decision I ever made.
What does "commitment" mean in this sentence? It seems that it means "decision". But I cannot find it in any dictionary.
Is it naturally used?
thanks!

In my opinion, you are correct, and decision would be a better word here.
Best wishes,
