Hi! Teachers.
I'm reading a fantasy fiction written by an American writer, now.
And, I met expressions of which I couldn't understand the meanings, again.
In this fantasy, a girl was lost in the enchanted wood, and captured by a bad witch. A boy rescued her from the witch, and they escaped from the enchanted wood.
Then they built a fire and ate their dinner.
And the boy said to the girl who was putting more wood on the fire. "You can finish with the wood now. There are bandits out there." ←What does this sentence mean?
What does “finish with” mean?
Does this mean "We are safe now, because we are out of the enchanted wood. In the wood, there are many bandits, so, if we were there, it would be dangerous" ?
Or, by any chance, does this mean you can use up wood(branch) to warm up?
I would be most grateful if you could tell me.
Very Happy

This is a hard one! I think it might mean don't put any more wood on the fire because some bandits might see us, but I couldn't be sure.
