He wants to be an Edison (ㅇ)
He wants to be the Edison of Korea. (ㅇ)

Can I say, "He wants to be an Edison of Korea"?

Thanks

The only one I would say is "He wants to be the Edison of Korea." which means he wants to be the only one like that. "An" means not the only one. Neither of the ones with "an" sounds okay to me.

The second one is correct as there can only be one Edison - so he wants to be seen as the equivalent of Edison in Korea.

The first one may also be correct as hemay want to be regarded as an Edison (ie one of many) but his is a little extreme and unlikely
