Is "the" in "for the more than 3,100 employeea" necessary?
The decision does not affect the 750,000 employees who work for the more than 3,100 franchisees who operate more than 12,500 McDonald’s restaurants around the country.

I think you need it. I don't think I could explain it well, but it sounds better that way, although that may be a poor explanation.  |
