Is the captioned phrase an idiom? I cannot understand its meaning.
On Wednesday, amid dour polling results and the looming threat of indictments in the George Washington Bridge lane-closing case, Mr. Christie will export the format to New Hampshire as he tries to jump-start a possible, but not-yet-assured campaign for president. _________________ Hiromichi |

This one was tricky! I had to google it. You needed the previous paragraph. It reads, "In his darkest political days, Mr. Christie has always turned to his trademark political spectacle: the town-hall-style meeting."
The format he is exporting is the town-hall-style meeting. It means he is going to take that idea to New Hampshire, since he usually uses it in his home state of New Jersey. |

It was not at all inappropriate. It's quite unusual to have one sentence so far away from the other one that it refers too. |
