Please help me.

In the case where we would like to write "an example of something", but the something has s plural form, for example, "characteristics (like the characteristics of a motor current", how can we write? Can we write "an example of characteristics of a motor current"? Or, can we write "examples of characteristics of a motor current"? Thanks in advance.

I think you could say, "This is an example of the characteristics of a motor current." If you have more than one example, you could say, "These are examples of the characteristics of a motor current." However, if you only had one example, you couldn't use the second sentence. It wouldn't have to be plural because the "something" is plural.
