In sping festival, chinese don't eat moon cake. They eat moon cake in mid-autumn Day, because in that day, the moon is rotund, the moon cake is also rotund.
in sping festival, chinese people who live in north eat dumplings. In the south area, people eat rice glue ball.
Sping festival is most important festival in China, like new year and christmas in the west countries. |

I think Chinese culture is very interesting, and because of I'm half chinese, i also know some of Chinese culture and festival like the Chinese New Years. I think it is a fun and very interesting festival. On this day, my family wake up very early, dress up in red, and pray something very interesting.

I think it is important to clarify more specifically. I have many Uighur friends, for instance, who would take offence at the term Chinese culture to include only Han festivals (and some of them teach English, so they can read this forum without any difficulty whatsoever), and I know they can be very sensitive to this issue, as this is a topic they often bring up with me. I believe therefore that it would be much more respectful, if you are discussing Han culture specifically, to refer to it as Han culture, and only refer to Chinese culture in the wider sense if you are genuinely including all aspects of Chinese culture, and not only that of the Han.
For instance, the Uighurs generally don't celebrate the Han festivals except in areas where there are many Han. Many Uighurs, on the other hand, commemorate 'Id-i-Fitr and 'Id-i-Adha, among others. Some also commemorate 'Id-i-Naw Ruz. Wecould argue that those are Chinese festivals also, but more specifically Uighur. We should not impose our cultures upon each other.
Thank you for reading this. |
