I'm going to deliver a lecture about Canada, Kenya and Vietnam, so I'd like to know more about their culture, history etc.
If you come from one of those countries or if you've visited them, I'd be glad to hear about it. What is it like to live there? Can you mention any famous tourist attractions? What's good and what's bad in the counry in question?

I'll be very pleased to hear about your opinions and experiences. Very Happy

A little bit about Canada...

Every province has something that makes it unique. In British Columbia, smokers of marijuana are not uncommon; in Quebec the majority of people speak French; Alberta & Saskatchewan are home to many farmers; Newfoundland and Nova Scotia are famous for their fish...

I live in the capital of Canada, Ottawa. Our main attraction in the winter is the Canal. It is the world's longest outdoor skating rink, but if you are planning on coming to Canada in the winter, pack warm clothes as we have horribly cold (and windy) winters.

A favourite winter treat is a "beaver tail", it's not an beaver's tail but a pastry. Also, if you are ever in Canada, Tim Hortons (there are thousands across the country) is a great place to go for coffee & donuts.

In some cities, there are bylaws against smoking in restaurants, pubs and clubs, although Quebec is more tolerant of smokers.

We do not live in igloos (well, I don't... and I've never heard of anyone who does) and I've never seen a dog-sled (my parents drive a minivan) but we have a habit of saying "eh". Here is a humerous website: http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/6160/eh.html (it may contain language unsuitable for young kids, sorry if it offends anyone)

hope this helps

Yes, I live in Canada. I've lived here all my life (nearly 20 years) and I quite enjoy it. I'm glad the information was of use to you Smile
