I, too, am planning to teach English overseas and the question remains with what customs fascinate you the most. That way, your teaching experience will be more of an enjoyable one. I've done a bit of traveling and either Vietnam, Thailand, or China would be my initial destinations.

Either way, I hope you have fun wherever your path leads you.

Hi, I am not a teacher. Am I a student? If a student is somebody who studies at school/college/university, then I'm not... I was years ago! But sometimes I still consider myself as a student because I'm still taking an English course to improve my language skill. I am posting this reply to let you know that I have a little bit knowledge about languages and cultures in case you need help. I like traveling, that's how I got my knowledge. Not much, but enough to help myself decide where to live. Hope I will be able to help others too! Smile

Can i ask you a question at first? What's your intention through teaching english? There are many teachers abroad come to China to learn more about China while teaching english. Maybe there payment are not high, but they feel happy. Because the culture here attracts them a lot. So i think if you want to make money, you may choose some developed region. But if you want to broaden your own outlook, you may choose some small city maybe mysterious to you, you may get much.

hello,nice to meet you!

You are from USA,so no wonder that your english is so good. but your post just makes me confused. you are a native speaker of english, but why do you still need to take an english course? obviously, for you,the english course is superfluous and unnecessary. take me for example,I am a Chinese, so I have never try to learn Chinese language, but Chinese just automatically entered into my brain, just as english did to you. now I get more and more puzzled.

would you answer my queries?
