If the U.S. didn't intervene in any international conflicts, do you REALLY think things would be better?

Actually, if the US don't interfere, they ask them for help. Just look at what happened in Liberia.

I know. The U.S. has been in this "Leave us alone but help us if we ask" situation for years. One country calls the U.S. cruel for not helping them. Another country tells the U.S. to "get out of their business". What if the U.S. just left them all alone? I guess we'd go back to "Isolationism". I think we all know how that policy once turned out.

What dissappointing to me Rebecca is that you've never read anything of his so how would you know. If you'd ever read anything of Noam Chomsky's (especially books relating to linguistics) you'd know that his education was in mathematics (I even stated eralier hat he was a mathematician).

How good or bad or resourceful can his books be to you when you've never tried to read anything of his? It doesn't matter what he studied either, what matters is that he's pretty damn smart. Bush supposedly earned a Law degree from Harvard, so how much more is he supposed to understand war than Noam Chomsky

How do you have any idea what I've read or studied?

Chomsky studied mathematics, philosophy, AND linguistics. I didn't bring up his mathematical background because it wasn't relevant AND you already had. He received his PhD in Linguistics in 1955.

While earning my degree, I studied Chomsky in linguistic courses and philosophy courses. I would not have said I read him if I hadn't.

I don't appreciate you calling me a liar and trying to discredit me simply because I struck a nerve in disagreeing with your idol.

Well, you DID state that you didn't find what he wrote "original" enough. Care to state where else you might have read anything like what he has? i mean, he couldn't have become as famous as he is now if what he wrote was just a rehashing of somebody else wrote so... what's your real beef with him?

Face it, there are a lot of nationalists who disagree with what he says because they feel they "can't", but they'd never imply somehting as weird as "I didn't think it was original enough."

My idol, hmmmm... I don't know.... Noam Chomsky or Hulk Hogan....? Smile

for sorry, the only one who know the background of alqaeda's actionwas the canadian friend
they are not against the freedom or liberty or even the non muslims but they are against any one who try to fight Islam or occupy islamic territories.
So they tried to assassinate some arab presidents who really was against islam and dectators
(like the case of Egypt,Saudi arbia)
They of course against the occupation of Palestine so they fight any country that support that Ocuppation
(US)
They were also against the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq so they attacked
(US,Bali(australians),Spain)
so
I'm sure afetr the withdrawal of Spain from Iraq,Spain won't expose to any attacks

that is their opinions as i think
so please don't care about the american lies

But you must believe Islamic lies because if you don't we'll blow you up?
Do you really think Allah approves of murdering children?
Doesn't your religion call for the death of atheists?

Well, let's just talk the war in Iraq but not the f**king religion.Kofi Annan says the war was illegal,I agree with him.The war upset me with having no a approbation of UN,that's totally wrong. If the US got a licence of security council before war, most of the opposers would not be opposed.

So, you think al-Queda are the good guys who really stand for freedom and liberty? In that case, where was al-Queda when Saddam Hussein was killing millions of innocent Iraqis? Where was al-Queda when the Taliban were torturing innocent Afghan women? Where was al-Queda when Syria murdered thousands of their own citizens in the city of Hama? Why didn't al-Queda declare a jihad on Saddam Hussein, on the Taliban, and on the leader of Syria?

The US and the coalition are rebuilding the country of Iraq. They are repairing water pipes and restoring electricity to the country. And guess what al-Queda is doing? Al-Queda is DESTROYING the water and electricity that serves and helps the Iraqi people. Al-Queda is BEHEADING people who are electicians, truck drivers, and humanitarian workers who are helping the Iraqi people!

as i said before ,i just introduce the other point of view to make it clear.for example all of us against killing, but if you read about a man who killed a chiled in south america(i can imagine your feelings)
BUT what if you know from another newspaper that that child was a young killer and robber!!!!!
that's the case
know why they did so.
heal the problem ;the roots not surfacial solutions or unfair ones.

as for diana questions:
Quote:
In that case, where was al-Queda when Saddam Hussein was killing millions of innocent Iraqis?

al qaeda consider him an unbeliver and they permit killing him
so i laughed much about alqaeda -saddam ties

Quote:
Where was al-Queda when the Taliban were torturing innocent Afghan women?

THIS q needs a topic as it has many overlapping elements related to culture, religion and media.
so any q about taliban will be answered later.

Quote:
Where was al-Queda when Syria murdered thousands of their own citizens in the city of Hama?

in that time ,no thing called al qaeda wa exist on earth.
it's a good example,do you know who were killed in that city
Muslims Brotherhood(who are consider terrorists by US)
for US it's a matter of profits
for al qaeda both saddam and Alasad are (realtively)the same.

Quote:

i will consider you just a result of deceptive media.
the reports during the war said that US destroyed most of infra structure .So i think you watched that on CNN a year ago?
that was before the emerge of people resistance

I already know what the other side's point of view. I listened to Bin Laden's speech; therefore, I heard his point of view. He believes that the Christians and the Jews are "INFIDELS." That is why he believes they should be killed.

Al-Queda plans to kill Saddam, huh? Really? And when were they planning on carrying their plans? I've never heard of any assasination attempt on Saddam by al-Queda. Instead, I see al-Queda trying to kill Americans for trying to get rid of Saddam. If they really wanted to get rid of Saddam, they should have joined forces with the US.

Yes, Mkg, the US destroyed some of the infrastructure of Iraq, but it was not a total destruction. Why? Because the war was TOO SHORT to cause any kind of massive destruction! At any rate, the US is there rebuilding the country. NOW, look who is destroying the infrastructure. It's not the Americans anymore! It is the Muslim foreign terrorists like Zarwaqui (who is from Jordan) who is now destroying the infrastructure and even killing IRAQIS!!!!

You say "So they tried to assassinate some arab presidents who really was against islam and dectators (like the case of Egypt,Saudi arbia)"

The only reason they tried to assasinate these Arab Presidents in Egypt and Saudi Arabia was because these Presidents made peace with the "INFIDEL" Christians and Jews. Al-Queda NEVER went after Saddam because Saddam also hates the "INFIDEL" Christians and Jews.

Yeah sure they do. In 1991, Saddam attacked Kuwait, and did any of the Arab nations get rid of Saddam themselves??? NOOOO!!! They had to call on the US for help! When the US finally got Saddam to withdraw from Kuwait, did any of the Arab nations volunteer to contain Saddam? NOOOO!!!! They had to rely on American and British to do that for them. I didn't hear the Arab complaining when America bombed Kuwait's infrastructure to get Saddam to withdraw? Instead, I hear the Kuwaiti people happy that the US was able to get Saddam to withdraw. Kuwait was also the only Arab country who stood beside the US in the Iraq-led war.

It's the Muslim TERRORISTS who has been doing all the attacking. In the Philippines, the Muslims there want to separate themselves from the Christians despite the fact that the Philippines is 85% Catholic. There are only 5% Muslims in the Philippines, and they want a separate country of their own despite that they are Filipinos like their Catholic brothers? It seems that the Muslim Terrorists don't want to get along with their Catholic brothers and sisters. In Thailand, the Muslim Terrorists attacked the Buddhist because they want to be separated and have their own country despite that Thailand is 94% Buddhist. Only 4% of Thailand is Muslim and they want to be separated???? The Muslim terrorists don't know how to get along with their Buddhist brothers. In Saudi Arabia, where the two sacred mosques of the Muslims are located, 100% of the people there are Muslims. Can you imagine that???? 100% of the people there are MUSLIMS!! Where are the Christians and Jews and other non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia?
