Do you hear about the terrible disease, all my friends? It is so awful that it happens in this spring. It makes the green spring turn grey. I am so sorry about that some people in our country are suffering from it.Some people say it is the US who put some chemical weapon to our country.I do not know if it is true, but I really feel sad when I hear about it.

Confused I dont think US gov't deployed a chemical weapon just to harm people. I think this desease is product of the deforestation of world's forests, pollution an abusive use of antibiotics.
God knows what other illnesses will see in the future.

This is a virus and not a chemical weapon. The USA has nothing whatever to do with it and it may be the USA which saves China from a very serious epidemic which started in chickens and mutated to humans because of the farming methods employed in China.
Perhaps China, for once, should have admitted the scope of the problem a little earlier and then it would not have been exported around the world.

SARS is a problem, but right now it's not as bad as newspapers are saying (at least in Toronto).

Still, you need to be careful.

thank you very much for your care.I am fine in the campus with our schoolmates. And I believe our people will organize together to fight with the disease bravely. The weather gets warmer and warmer, so the virus could not live longer.

I do not believe your point. In my view, the farming methods are OK.having no relation with the disease. How do you explain why so many years the virus did not come into being under the methods?

in history ,deadly viruses such as aids ,yellow fever are inevitable to appear from time to time .the question is how to face and handle them when these viruses suddenly invade human sociey .in fact ,in vietname where the first sars case was found ,the virus has been under control .maybe partly because of the hot climate there ,but it seems that the vietname authorities did a good job in combating the disease .in contrast , sars caused a big mess in china ,which i think is a true reflection of the ineptitude of chinese government at all levels .and the guangdong government is the first who should be blamed and punished for the rapid spread of the disease across the country .because those local officials knew sars in existence as early as december lasy year but failed to contain the highly contagious epidemic ,nor imformed the people of the danger .in a word ,since china is in great transition from an agricultural and rural nation to an industrialized and urbanized one ,the government is and will be faced with numerous unexpected challenges and difficulties ,which require the government to act efficiently and effectively.but only through sweeping reforms of the vast bureaucracies, can it meet the changing needs of the society .by the way ,i am optimistic about fighting sars in china, and i think we can have it under effective control as late as this july .

Exclamation Though SARS is very serious now, I still believe we can defeat it through our effort. What we need most is to love everyone and to help everyone. Just be confident about our country and our government and try our best to do what we need to do. Life will go on and let's make efforts together!

I think it is under control in Toronto now.

In China it seems like the authorities really dropped the ball (made mistakes). I suppose they were worried about their jobs and tried to cover it up in the hopes that it would go way. But it didn't. This is going to hurt a lot of people, and not just in China.

Chinese government structure = corrupt.

Do not mention useless imaginations.Chinese need time and action to save its future.Frankly ,the social system is not completely made.Medical care is limited. Please give them time .They will overcome SARS perfectly.

Chinese authority, as they used to be, would have continued to cover up the outbreak of SARS virus which had been dismissed if the disease did not spread like wildfire. They never for once thought of making a little effort to beat the disease until many parts of area in Asia have been harshly hit.

Of course it is useless to condemn the mass of inflexible minds but I have the right to express my discontent anyway.

I think it is not the time to discuss to make it but to unite all the excellent scientists to reseach it and beat it.

in fact ,they did .they had tried to prevent the spread of the disease .meantime they told the world that everything was ok .that is called "intense inside ,lax outside", the typical way of handling crises in china .unfortunately ,the way no longer works in the information times.morever ,they are facing and dealing with a mysterious plague, which came inexplicably and swiftly .
